Chensi runs no ads, no tracking, and sells no data. Here is our honest, plain statement of what we collect, what becomes public, and what belongs to you alone forever.
What we collect
The email you register with, the nickname you set, and what you write in Chensi (fleeting notes, threads, responses, closing notes). That is all — no extra personal information. The one thing beyond that is a number that attaches to nobody: how many people open Chensi each day, described under “What we never do” below.
What stays private forever
Notes resting in your inbox that were never promoted, and threads you keep private (answering yourself), are visible to you alone. We will not expose or display them for any reason. Moderation, too, looks only at publicly visible content — private and friends-only content is never moderated.
What is public
Threads you open to the community, their responses, and the counts of the three reactions () are publicly visible. Who pressed which reaction is never shown.
Where data lives
All data sits in a Supabase-hosted database, transmitted over encrypted connections. We do not hand your data to third parties for ads or analytics.
Deleting your account
Deleting your account is self-service in Settings — no need to ask anyone. Once you confirm, your words, images, follows and the account itself are removed immediately and irreversibly. You can export all your words from Settings first.
What we never do
No ads, no third-party trackers, no selling or renting your data to anyone. Chensi lives on its people, not their data. The one thing we do count ourselves is how many people open Chensi each day: stored only as a one-off hash that rotates daily (computed from IP and browser identifier, neither of which is kept), with no cookie and no third party, unlinkable to the same person across days, and kept at most 90 days — expired rows are deleted along with the next count.
When you sign in with Google
We ask Google for exactly three things: openid, email, profile — your email address and your name (plus an avatar URL). Mail, contacts and Drive are never touched and cannot be read. No Google script is loaded on any page (which is why there is no one-tap popup). Signing in with Google using the same email lands you in the same account; you can link or unlink Google in Settings at any time, and unlinking touches nothing you have written.
